Christine Breaux Husni

Christine Husni, formerly known as Christine Breaux, is a native of Gonzales, Louisiana. She graduated from Dutchtown High School, and was named Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year, in 2005 before accepting a scholarship to Ole Miss to play Women’s Soccer. While at Ole Miss, Christine was a 4-year starter and earned All-America Honors. She then earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction while participating in the Mississippi Teacher Corps program. After earning her Master’s degree, she became an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Vanderbilt University. She taught Physical Education at Gonzales Middle School for two years and is currently Co-Owner and Head Coach at CrossFit 3090. She began CrossFit as a competitor in 2014 and has been a CrossFit Trainer and USA Weightlifting Sports Performance coach since 2015. She currently holds her CrossFit Level 2 Trainer Certification. Furthermore, she most recently completed her CrossFit Gymnastics Certification in 2022 and CrossFit Nutrition Certification in 2023. 

 

Afeef Husni

Afeef was born and raised in Mississippi and has always had an athletic and scientific background. After graduating high school in 2004 at the age of 16, he attended Ole Miss and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2008.  He then furthered his education by earning his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Mississippi in 2012 followed by a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the Department of Anesthesiology. Although taking a back seat to his studies, he played competitive sports his entire life. He began CrossFit in 2014 and his education was put aside when he found his true passion for CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting. Along with his wife, Christine, he is Co-Owner and Head Coach at CrossFit 3090. He holds his CrossFit Level 2 Trainer and USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach Certifications and has been coaching since 2015. He also has his CrossFit Gymnastics Certification and CrossFit Nutrition Certification. Currently, he works in Operations within the chemical industry.

Laken Picou

Laken Picou was born and raised in Saint Amant, Louisiana where she graduated from Saint Amant High School in 2013. During her high school years, she played soccer and was awarded First Team All-District her senior year. She found CrossFit shortly after college and has since earned her CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Certification in 2018. Along with her full-time job and CrossFit, Laken also has her own photography services, Laken Deshae Photo.

 

Kurt Walters

Kurt was born and raised in the island country of Jamaica. He spent most of life in academia in order to pursue and build his career as a Mechanical Engineer. Eight years ago he began the journey to change his life through distance running, competing in various half and full marathons, as well as obstacle course races. During that journey, in 2013, he found CrossFit, which transformed him into a stronger, durable, and more versatile athlete. CrossFit became his dominant sport through its effectiveness and the community it fosters. He obtained in CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Certification in 2019. 

 

Trevor Diedrich

Trevor joined CrossFit 3090 in 2018 when he moved to the area to pursue his career as a Web Designer within the sports industry. He grew up in Johnsburg, Illinois where he played competitive soccer. He furthered his education and soccer career by playing at Carroll University (NCAA-D3). He first found CrossFit in 2016 when he was working at the stadium in which the CrossFit Games were held. He has been a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer since February of 2020.  

 

Kristen Hanna

Kristen Hanna is from Maurepas and currently resides in Prairieville. Throughout her high school years she played competitive softball, basketball, and track. She truly excelled in softball and was once named the World Series MVP. In 2013, she graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelors of Science in Integrative Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She is currently working as a Senior Chemist at a specialty gas plant in Geismar. She joined CrossFit 3090 in August 2019 and completed her CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification course in February 2021.

 

Zach Bowman

Zach grew up in Brookhaven, MS and graduated from West Lincoln High School. In high school, he played baseball and tennis. Zach attended Harding University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2014 and an MBA in 2016. He now lives in Gonzales with his wife, Shelby, and their three children, Eason, Emery, and Bennett. Zach is a math teacher at Saint Amant High School. Zach joined CrossFit 3090 in June of 2018, and obtained his CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification course in February of 2021.

 
Dawn Sharp

Dawn is a native of Morgan City, LA, and currently lives in Prairieville. She was a multi-sport high school athlete, with years spent as a competitive gymnast. She was a walk-on to the first LSU Women’s Softball Team in 1997 with All-SEC Academic honors and graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed her residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery. 
She joined CrossFit 3090 in 2019. Since joining, she has successfully become a 2-time Ironman 140.6 Triathlon Finisher and CrossFit Masters athlete. In 2022, she made it to the CrossFit Open Age-Group Online Quarterfinals. In 2023, she finished as a top 10 finalist for the TYR Wodapalooza Gauntlet Division in Miami, FL. She has a love for CrossFit gymnastics, has an underdog mindset, and is interested in athlete wellness and recovery.
Dawn completed her CrossFit Health Care Professional Level 1 Trainer certification in April 2023. Furthermore, she also holds her certifications in CrossFit Gymnastics and CrossFit Nutrition.
